The Strategic Sensing Alliance (SSA) needed an open mechanism tool that would enable their network of technical experts, customers, and suppliers to discover existing sensing technologies and research.

Our mission became to create a platform where we could connect experts focused on developing and delivering sustainable solutions to meet the needs of customers from various industries.

Nokia Siemens: Easy to Use, High-Tech Solutions

Nokia Siemens -- one of the leading telecommunications equipment manufacturers in the world -- wanted to redesign their main website. But with years of content sitting in a content management system that was no longer supported by its manufacturer, Nokia Siemens was in a fix.

We met the challenge of reverse engineering the data from the system, creating an inventory, and transforming it all into a format that would do more than meet our client’s needs.

A New CMS Platform

Xululabs built the system that moved the data from the old CMS and injected it into a new CMS platform: Drupal.

A Hybrid Approach

We reverse engineered the data from XML dumps and screen scraped the data from the old system. Our method of screen scraping tapped the data and the XML dumps were used to check for quality and completeness.

Project Execution

Xululabs crafted a technical approach that met goals and found solutions for the constraints. Our team monitored and controlled the project every step of the way to ensure that we delivered our finest work.

The International Planned Parenthood Federation: Leaving A Lasting Impression

Xululabs is proud to have worked with the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), an international NGO that serves the underprivileged in the areas of family planning; abortion; maternal and child health care; and STI/HIV treatment, prevention, and care. Keeping in mind its huge international audience, Xululabs developed a backend solution that was carefully coordinated, meticulously planned, and easy to use.

Robust Architecture

We used Drupal Open Atrium to help create this easily navigable website. Streamlining the site’s navigation and creating a visually enhanced web structure made the website more responsive. And given our fondness for open source, we decided to use Drupal’s Open Source Content Management System for regular and swift updates.

Ease of Information

Considering the multitude of services offered by IPPF, its huge audience, and increasing number of member organizations, Xululabs planned a website with an information flow that tightly interlinked topics. Given the vastness of the site, we also developed a search tool (using two different engines) so that users could efficiently search by language, content type, and topic.

Streamlining Content & Resources

To cater to the international member associations of the IPPF, Xululabs designed a world map with clickable areas that provided the desired country’s data, as well as details about each country’s member organizations. Using Drupal Organic Groups, we also split the map into regions so that each regional website admin could easily update content across regional websites.

The Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America: The Power of Great Design

The Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA) promotes the transfer of science, engineering, and technology to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities.

Because RESNA has thousands of members in the US and Canada (with seven special interest groups and seven professional specialty groups), Xululabs developed a collaborative system and website to cater to the different needs of RESNA’s various audiences – a massive project that needed a majorly creative solution.

Sophisticated CMS

Xululabs built over fourteen sites for RESNA, some of which needed to support thousands of members who interact and exchange information every day. Our Drupal masters accomplished this by using efficient and highly sophisticated Drupal CMS features where different domains were developed with complete sets of information for its special interest groups.

Interactive Community

An interactive online community of users was fostered through developing forums and member directory listings.

Interlinked Domains

By interlinking domains, we were able to develop a community of websites, each with a related design, similar architecture, and easily navigable.

The International Coach Federation: Engaging Interfaces; Impactful Designs

The International Coach Federation (ICF) needed an online presence that showed off its membership for the professional coaching world. It wanted a clean representation of its niche and to attract the required market segment to its website. Xululabs implemented an efficient platform and developed a unique web presence that incorporated the ICF vision and mission.

Establishing Brand Identity

The basic idea of the ICF website was to build and serve an online community of professionals and coaches worldwide, especially in the Washington, D.C. area. Xululabs realized this goal by establishing a strong brand identity and web community for the ICF site users.

Connecting With Members

The website is membership-based, serving a large set of users. We built the website to handle the heavy-flow of communication that takes place in the form of forum discussions and blogs. Users were also able to search for and find information on events and community chapters.

Database-Centric Approach

Xululabs designed a Find-a-Coach service for the Metro D.C. Chapter. The detailed selection criteria would return many results from the database and it was built with the most advanced technology to serve its purpose.

George Mason University’s College of Health and Human Services: A to Z Web Solutions

George Mason University’s College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) is a leading institution with highly profiled faculty members. The college employed Xululabs to modernize its website, and the result? A state-of-the-art website that Xululabs still maintains and hosts to this day.

Friendly Website Structure

CHHS is a complex, multi-cultural, and international environment. This diverse nature of the institution called for a highly engaging website structure that was multi-user friendly, which we delivered by re- engineering website pages.

Content-Centric Online Platform

Our Drupal team expertly created a platform for the college that allowed for content versioning, fine-grained security, and extensive search engine optimization. Xululabs migrated roughly 500 pages from the old site to the new and improved Drupal-based site.

Highly Efficient Navigational System

We thought carefully about the institution’s audiences, core values, and mission. Students, faculty, staff, and academic courses were streamlined to be front and center via extensive backend programming.

George Mason University’s School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution: Building

Building Technology to Simplify Business

The School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution wanted to re-engineer its website by revamping its design, updating its information architecture, and providing more structure to its layout. The system needed to be user friendly for nontechnical staff at S-CAR, so Xululabs used its data and design expertise to provide the school with a complete website overhaul.

Easy to Use

After a thorough analysis of the site, we developed a website where nontechnical S-CAR staff is easily able to maintain the website using the Drupal CMS. We also implemented a simple-to-use search feature that allowed visitors to search by author, by topic, by type (journal article, video, audio, etc.).

Organized Approach

All the information for the website was dynamically generated to help the website maintain its data. Some other features included a jQuery slider with an Ajax performance for swiftly moving between pages. We also applied a rigorous method of tagging in the backend to organize the site, helping users navigate between related topics.

Highly Interactive

We embedded videos, radio broadcasts, audio recordings list, podcasts, television appearances, and sliders to showcase events and news, keeping audiences engaged and up-to-date.

Transportation Alternatives: Integrating Strategy and User Experience

Transportation Alternatives (TA) has been serving the pedestrian and bike travel routes for safer transportation and streets in New York City. To create a safer city, we worked with Transportation Alternatives to create a sophisticated map layout of street mishaps for project CrashStat.org, which outlines vehicle crashes with pedestrians and bicyclists on New York City’s busy streets. The map itself would serve as a strong reference point for thousands of daily commuters.

Data, Data, Data

We took a huge amount of data (over 220,000 pedestrians and bicyclists were killed or injured on New York City streets since 1995) and embedded it on an actual street map, clearly marking crash intersections and relevant details about the type of accident/vehicles involved.

Rigorous Mapping Techniques

When it comes to a New Yorker’s fast-paced life, there is no room for delay. We re-engineered the website and developed deep level filters that would make searches faster and more precise.

User-Friendly & Dynamically Structured

Our innovative use of Google map modules in Drupal created a street map with the exact number and place of accidents, along with crash details such as toll of street deaths and injuries, motorist types, pre- crash actions, and contributing factors for traffic violence. We employed features such as dynamic pop- ups with crash data and custom area selection to establish an engaging user interface. We also integrated social media apps so that users could share with their networks easily and quickly.

George Mason University’s College of Science: Crafting Your Brand

As one of the most frequented college portals, George Mason’s College of Science (COS) desperately needed to make their outdated website more user-friendly, so essentially: our forte. We applied strong, innovative strategies to helped COS achieve its website goals while strengthening its online presence by establishing the school with a unique brand identity.

Migrating Data

Extensive analysis of the COS requirements and rigorous methods of data collection were implemented by Xululabs to provide a transparent and smooth information management system for the website.

Strengthening Its Brand

We created an innovative design, integrated social media, and displayed latest happenings on the landing page to mark the college’s brand.

A New Look

We gave the website a facelift by using unique features, and a survey of website users found the COS site layout and design as both user-friendly and out-of-the-box. The new design coupled with a clearly outlined space for courses and departments details created a content-rich and visually pleasing online presence for the college.
